You can actually get your hands on thousands of different designs and instructions suitable for the smallest to largest of garages at Plans For Sheds. You can even find instructions on how to build two level buildings that are big enough to hold your car and a load of other things too.
Many different garages carports can actually be constructed within an hour. Of course you may need two or three strong guys and you will need your foundations ready laid and the materials pre-cut. But if that is in place then sometimes the construction is incredibly quick and easy.

I must confess this is one of the benefits I discovered when I purchased my shed plans online. I have been into DIY stores so many times but never used this. I would then spend hours at home soaring and chopping but not when I built my garden shed.
I actually got the four panels used for the walls pre-cut and so constructing them was really easy, plus it was completely square! Obviously if you are building a larger garage than my shed, you may need more than one panel per wall but again these can be pre-cut for you and delivered, although you may have to pay a small fee for delivery.
